It's defo got the best chance of happening this year - and given that we will be a hell of a lot further away from it next year it's almost a "now or never"
We really wanted to do Exit in Serbia, but that's out due to Codheads wedding - so we may do a long weekend in Ibiza in August or September

Whats this i hear about Melbourne not being the destination anymore? When are you planning on leaving these shores?
I'd suggest August if you want to see it full throttle/busiest, have the hottest weather & potentially the BIGGEST lineups (Radio One weekend is early Aug), September is preferable if you're wanting to avoid the hoards, prices are a little lower than Aug, closing parties are generally from Sep 20-Oct 1, but you obv take a hit on the weather if you go at this time...
Is it your parents who've got a place in Spain? Where is it?

If I transfer with work, which is a possible, then we'd be initially in Sydney If we just decide to go and get jobs once we're there then we'll be going to Melbourne Either way, we will be going in January next year If we go to Ibiza I guess it would be beginning of September, but really haven't given it any thought yet And yeah, my parents have just bought a 2 bedroomed apartment in Almeria Hopefully going across for a long weekend in June, and then will go for a week in either July or August

over populated with Club 18-30's s h i t e nights too many people bugging you to go to some dodgy night at Eden! The only place's I would venture there are Space and DC10 now.. I would much rather have two weeks in peace and tranquility it is no longer over-populated by Club 18-30's reps, i didn't really come across any pub crawls/massive groups of kn0bs last year. In general it was quieter & there's less of that element. there are loads of wicked nights at really cool venues, if all you look at are Pacha/Amnesia/Eden etc listings of course all you're going to get is a load of trance for the masses & superstar DJs @ ridiculous prices. Flyering has been illegal on Ibiza for a few years now, so there's no pestering & even when it was allowed it was only when you walked through the main bit of San An that it happened....which after 1 visit, most people steer clear of. If you venture to some places other than Space/DC10 maybe you'd come home a little more rewarded & satisfied with your holiday (and less in need of a holiday!), there's some ace beaches/bars/restuarants/parties off the beaten track (yet, easy enough to find out about) & you can be assured the crowd, atmoshphere & vibe are probably more what you're looking for. Peace & tranquility can be achieved in Ibiza, if you stay away from San An & Playa Den Bossa it is possible to have a family holiday, with peace & quiet, yet know that 20 mins drive & you're in the biggest club in the world. I feel like i shouldn't be going on like this* and people will take the p1ss, but IMO it needs saying. *like the Ibiza Tourist Board ;D yep, well said Scott, totally agree with all that you have put.. we stayed in Santa Eulalia last year and its a fantastic part of the island, reputadly the wealthiest 'town' in Spain per square kilometer, the shops are cool the bars and restaurants are really good, no British Chavs, yet you are a 10 minute bus ride from Ibiza Town and the transport links to all the best bars and clubs on the Island theres so much more than the big clubs in Ibiza, and for that matter San Antonia has gotten a lot better in the last few years they have spent a fortune regenerating the place...dont know if any of you know but they have built a new bus station at the back of hotel picis park (near the egg) and have built a large promenade right round from where the old bus station was right past Cafe Del Mar etc and round to that little beach past Kanya, so you dont have to pass through the west end on your way to Sunset strip..should be worth checking out i got the 1st week in September booked off and hope to be back out for a week then

www.spotlight-forums.com/showthread.php?t=42663&page=8 - this thread shows all the work they're doing, particularly round the 'sunset strip' bars...looks like it'll be much better, being able to get to these bars (the only places worth going in San An), without having to trek thru the sh1tty west end....

I know what you mean Tinks. When I first went to Beefa 4 years ago, I thought what is all the fuss about.. but gave it ago the following year, and then again last year and it just keeps getting better. For me its not about getting t w a t t e d anymore, so I just try and chill out, go to the gorgeous restuarants (KM5, Blue Marlin, L'elephant) chill out by the pool, and then have a couple of big nights which I can then sleep off in the sunshine the next day. Villa's are defo the way forward! However, this year I'm going out for a long weekend with some mates of mine, staying in an apartment in Playa Den Bossa, then Scott's coming out to join me for a couple of nights.. we're then going over to Spain, ending up in Barca for Sonar - will be interested to see how it compares with Ibiza..
Just heard Space won't be open tho, so not sure if Beefa has anything to compare with..

Space will be open. It's opening party is June 3rd, the week before you're there.
We Love....Sundays @ Space opening party is June 17th, the week after you're there...but they still open on June 10th, just not the Darren Hughes-promoted thing....

It's just done by the club themselves. Carl Cox & Steve Lawler arte booked for June 3rd for instance...June 10th will probably be lower key, with more Spanish DJs tho...

Raised my hopes then dashed them on the heels of the little man - gutted :-( Heard you were coming so pushed all the big names back/forward so you can sample the 'local' talent p.s I'll be in Mallorca when you're in Ibitza so I might wave from the cliff surely you'll see me from Ibiza, they cant be that far away from each other...well they look pretty lose on the map!! ;D
