just downloaded the phil weeks rn2 mix and.......loving it guys, couldnt belive my ears when he brings in Jodeci - Freak'n'You at 25 mins! Took me right back to when i was playing the U.S sound @ those dodgy after hours clubs in Huddersfield every weekend in 95.
Still sounded fresh today!
Keep up the good work

Beyond Beach Babylon? That place behind the Kebab shop near Visage? the dirty basement which u had to go through the chicken take away to get into....also known as The Basement, Montegoes or Ran-x. It was on Chappel Hill just up from Visage m8. I also used to play for dendo's which was round near the fire station. Tony Humphries was playing @ Hard Times one night and afterwards he came over and played a set @ Montegoes! lol It was a memorable night ill tell the www.earconditioning.moonfruit.comAntony Ellis

Are you kidding?!?
Ran-x, yeah thats what it was called when i was around da hudd...1996-2000
The Hump played in that scuthole behind the fried chicken takeaway, jesus, bet he was just after a feed!
My mate once went there and sporadically a scary yardie would come up to him...
"rizla....." [he'd hand over rizla]
a bit later
"cigarette....." [so he'd crash him a cig]
It went on like this until he decided to bail, mainly cos the mate he was with had a big bag of viagra on him and was offering them to the hookers that frequented the gaff...

Was this Wesley by any chance? The scary yardie? lmao....scary yardies, yup the place was full of em but it wasn't too bad once you were known. The U.S House/Garage scene was excellent there in 95..(until speed garage cropped up!) My mate once had his records stolen by a bit of a scary geezer, off we went with some other scary geezers into the darkest depth's of Fartown at silly hour in the morning to get em back!! God only knows what possesed is to go but he did get them back amazingly! ;D Good times(well most of em from what i can remember)

I lived in Fartown 97-98, Calton Street, loadsa good memories of that year...
You're right, strange that Huddersfield was a kind of haven of quality house in that era...Masters At Work, Roger Sanchez, Humphries, all the big guns were brought to town by Hard Times.
Have i met you at RN2 Anthony? Do you know Mozzi?

I do get down to dividedbydirt when they put on a gig like, i know Jake Manders fairly well, nice guys and top parties! Mozzi.......Ive never met him face2face but i spoke to him a few times, i rang him when he got runner up in the i-dj comp because i noticed he was doing a night in Huddersfield @ the Verve bar, i was going to send him a demo cd over to try and get a stint on the 1's n 2's but he said he was sacking the night off cos it was too quiet and the system was sh*te and stuff, and he probably just started playing for you guys an all Antony Ellis
