Roll up, roll up for the slamming third instalment from Immigrant Digital. This time we welcome two of the underground’s true rising stars and our tip for the future, Guillermo Miranda and Martin Teysera AKA Monoblock. Hailing from Uruguay and residing in Spain, Monoblock came to our attention through the Ouzo Music net label. The guys have been touring their live show all over Spain for the past year and in Their remix for Pheek’s Archipel label was strongly supported by Richie Hawtin and they have recently attracted attention from Dan Ghenacia’s Freak & Chic imprint. So get ready to check the slamming “Other Side of the Dwarf EP”!!!
First up is “Enanoide”, a rolling techno monster of a track. It’s hypnotic stabs and growing blips make for a deceptively melodic peak timer! Watch out for the edits!!!
No time for a breather though, Monoblock keep the tempo up with the smashing “El Baile Del Enanode Jardin”, another peak timer for sure but a little more jacking and jerky than the first for those who like it just slightly freakier. It’s infectious beats and hooky lead line are tasty listening siree and don’t forget the builds!
Next we have “Lugomi” a lush techno Detroit inspired number, listen to the pads, swirling to the to the break before dropping deep and dance floor on your asses! Check that bassline.
Finally we have “Galgo”, the housey cut - a bit of a drop in tempo to ease you out on your way home from the club. Ah the summer! -
