FRIDAY APRIL 15th - CasaMusica 2nd Birthday Party with: Justin Long, Phil Weeks, Slater Hogan & El Diablos
This is quite simply THE party of the year as far as we're concerned folks... We've teamed up with some of modern day house music's finest exponents to proivde the Casa faithful with an all-night session of quality beats & grooves. We've also opened up the 2nd room of Club North and are VERY pleased to have El Diablos social club on to provide the back room beats for this special occasion. Hows about that then??
Tickets are on sale online and in Manchester NOW (see ticket venues below) so get them while there's still some left. For those that walk on the wilder side there'll be a limited number of tickets available on the door but you better get there EARLY. Here's what's lined up guest-wise for you lucky, lucky people:
Justin Long
Justin Long, one of Chicago’s latter-day electronic music pioneers, has been touring the globe for the past nine years spreading the house music gospel. He's made frequent visits to clubs throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe, including visits to quality UK venues such as Back to Basics, Sub Club and Scuba. In addition, Justin has made countless guest appearances at and heads one of Chicago’s premier house events - .Dotbleep - which takes place once a month at Smartbar and features guests such as Dan X, Honey Dijon, Huggy, Natural Rhythm and Lance DeSardi.
In the studio, Justin works closely with production partner Dan X under their No Assembly Required moniker. Together, Justin and Dan have completed well over a dozen projects, including work for internationally respected house labels Music For Freaks, Aroma, Select Recordings, G-swing, Hip Therapist, Greens Keepers and Peaches Music. In conjunction with performing and producing, Justin also runs his own label, .Dotbleep Recordings which features quality house artists such as Natural Rhythm, Midas and J-Rod. Although still in it’s infancy, .Dotbleep has drawn quite a bit of attention within the house community and looks to follow it’s predecessors, Cajual and Classic Records.

Phil Weeks
International DJ and owner of much-respected underground house label Robsoul Recordings, Phil Weeks' career has certainly come on in leaps and bounds since making his UK debut at Casa back in September 2003. As well as taking up a residency at Boa in Toronto and making regular DJ appearances alongside good friends DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter and Doc Martin all across the globe, Phil has been releasing a steady stream of quality tracks and remixes that feature on not just his own label, but also Music For Freaks, Icon, 20:20 Vision and Hip Therapy Music.
Phil's 3-deck DJ'ing style is a hectic mash up of the old and the new where the latest Classic promo gets played alongside a mid-80's Cajmere track with an Rn'B acapella running over the top - in short the man's got skills...

Slater Hogan
Everyone knows a smart cocktail must be enjoyed slowly. The same is true for the smooth, sexy tunes of Slater Hogan. Like a good cocktail, his mixes are carefully measured with an ounce of soulful acapellas, a dash of lazy horns, a splash of bass lines that bounce and wiggle and finally garnished with groovin' bodies, drippin' with funk. Slater describes his DJ'ing style as not merely "just mixing records". He goes on, "the goal of blending records is to create a mix of two tracks so the two records sound better together than alone. The key signature must be exact, as does the phrasing. I also definitely want everyone dancing," says Hogan. "But educating them on the newest styles of house music is important as well". Slater began his career in Indianapolis back in 1996 and cites house innovators Mark Farina and Derrick Carter as key influences on him. Since then he has gone on to found his own record label, Muzique Boutique, and release on not only that but other internationally respected house labels such as Lowdown, Aroma and Odds & Ends. His gig schedule will see Slater perform across North and South America, Asia and across Europe during 2005.

El Diablos Social Club
When they're not hosting one-off soiree's for those in the know in obscure inner-city basements or planning discreet afterparties, Manchester's El Diablos crew can be found propping up the bar in any one of Manchester's cooler drinking establishments most evenings. The lads' regular Sunday sessions at Centro have won them fans far and wide not just for their laid-back, anything-goes music policy, but also because of the spirit in which they put their parties on - they simply love their music and want others to love it too. El Diablos will provide the perfect soundtrack for those wanting a break from the carnage of the main room and we're all really pleased to have the lads onboard.
If that wasn't enough, on the night they'll be also joined in the back room by a VERY special guest which we're going to keep to ourselves until a couple of days before. Keep checking the messageboard for more details...
