I'm confused Jon, do you think that we only do breaks normally?

I'm confused Jon, do you think that we only do breaks normally? No not at all - worded it wrongly. You for one dont play breaks. Not a critisism in saying that often the line-ups are jsut breaks. But this is a right mixed bag.

I'm confused Jon, do you think that we only do breaks normally? Yes. Does this mean you've run out of breaks djs' to book? Shall now once more consider Techi as a venue in that case. What would you say the musical style of technique was?

Yes. Does this mean you've run out of breaks djs' to book? Shall now once more consider Techi as a venue in that case. What would you say the musical style of technique was? Have you any idea of the DJs we book? none at all. I haven't been to technique for at least a year, and at that point i was under the impression that all you booked were breaks dj's. Not been one to know the less famous DJ's by name & music type, i would/do need enlightening as to the type of music Techni now calls its own. Ta. PS this is a seriuos question, i'm not taking the p*ss.

big line-up there dave, no question and i have to say i think Technique does definately have the reputation for being a predominently breaks night - i know quite a few people who think that (some that go infrequently, some not at all) and obviously having Adam Freeland headline this would re-enforce that i know the vibe is more varied than that, but as i say i also know that quite a few people see Technique as breakbeat

That amazes me!
Here's just a few of the none breaks DJs we've had over the years since we started with our policy of anything goes, Unabombers, Chicken Lips, Phil Kieran, Magda, Steve Bug, Nathan Coles, Dave Clarke, Luciano, Radioactive Man, Tom Middleton, Jori Hulkkonen, Swayzak, Peace Division, Peter Kruder, Dirt Crew, Miss Kittin, Rolando, Matthew Herbert, Carl Craig, Derrick May, John Tejada, Billy Nasty, Funk D'Void, Big Hair, Craig Richards, Maurice Fulton, David Holmes.
T-boy how does having Adam Freeland (arguably one of the world's most well-known DJs, full stop) at the top of a list of 8 none breaks headliners, suggest that we are predominantly breaks? I draw the conclusion that you know quite a lot of people who don't know a lot about music.

I draw the conclusion that you know quite a lot of people who don't know a lot about music. Fair enough. but insulting those who asked you a reasonable question isn't going to get anymore people through your door either. If you hadn't noticed, not everyone is a bedroom dj, and 75% of the people who go out, go out because a club has a good reputation, not because of the dj's that are on. So put simply, what is the music "policy" of technique?

I'll jump in here - the music 'policy' at Technique is anything goes. When we started the night we wanted somewhere we could go and hear all our favourite types of music in one night, hence our policy of breaks, house, techno, electro, fooked up electronica, drum and bass, hip hop - whatever. We book artists because we like the music they make and play. Clubbing and music tastes have changed, people generally don't listen to the same music week in week out anymore, and we want our booking policy to reflect that. That's why we've got Evil Nine and Nathan Fake playing together at the Mint, or why Craig Richards and Adam Freeland will be playing together at Northern Light. Life's too short for one kind of music.
