Now then guys,
This Friday at Pacific marks the start of a new night in Middlesbrough, with the Kill the Disco residents spinning six hours of minimal, techno, house, breaks and electro. Electronic music is slowly turning the corner in the town right now with a few good nights happening in the area; we hope this night can complement the others and give people the opportunity to listen to something a little more exciting than the standard R’n’B/Cheese/Funky House a lot of places seem to be playing. The drinks are cheap as chips, it’s smack bang in the middle of town (opposite the empire/sugarshack), it’s going to be quality music all night long and it’s free to get in so if you fancy coming out for a few bevies and a bit of a boogie, get yourself down to Pacific. It all kicks off at seven, and goes on till at least 1.
With your residents…
Ohmz B (Live @ The Underground)
C – Bass (Hanover, Germany)
Marsden
Paul Bradley
Special Guests this week are
Paul ‘Jnr’ Jones + J P Philippe (Disclosure Project Recordings)
Paul "Jnr" Jones started his musical career as a DJ for the Sugarshack club in the early 1990s, warming up in the main room for the likes of Roger Sanchez, MAW, Todd Terry, Seb Fontaine, Jeremy Healy and Gordon Kaye.
He met JP Philiipe through their mutual interest in music technology and they soon joined forces and started producing hundreds of tunes under the guises of The Disclosure project and the Cheatmen, playing out regularly at nights around the area. Disclosure Project Recordings came to life in 2005, is now one of the North East of England’s premiere underground labels, releasing quality house music by artists such as The Disclosure project, Section 75, The Ugly Twins, Mr Jones, JP Philippe and Paul Bardsley. Paul ‘Jnr’ Jones can regularly be found playing down at *RiffRaff in Middlesbrough, one of the North’s leading electronic music nights.
We’re always looking to give good local DJ’s an opportunity, so if you think you play the kind of stuff that would go down well at Kill the Disco, hit us up on one of the addresses below or pop down on the night and say hello!
