There has been alot of talk that Ibiza clubbing in general has been in a decline for a while now..the people of Ibiza(as much as they like the tourism) want their island 'back' and away from the stigma of being a drug-riddled non stop party island..
It would be a shame for DC10 to go, one of the few 'proper' party places on the island..
Looks like I got the hol booked just in time!

Real closure or clever marketing (not that it needs it!).
Well as long as it is open in September, that'll do me.

there's been rumours every year for about the last 5-6years that "this year will be the last" but it has still always opened again the following summer...
its inevitably going to close sometime in the near future cause it sits on land marked for development as part of the extension to the motorway and golf course... it still may be a few years yet though cause the spaniards take ages to get there arse into gear when it comes to things like this
Circoloco will without doubt continue its just a shame that a great venue in a great location will have to go, but i guess all good things come to an end sometime... Its a victim of its own success, a venue like dc10 is never going to take much in the way of profits due to its clientel and so has no financial clout to take on the Ibiza councils (or provide many brown envelopes stuffed with cash) to stop its closure

Latest news on this is that San Jose (a small chunk of Ibiza) council have agreed to prohibit clubs opening between 6am-12noon in this area of Ibiza (all other Ibizian areas already prohibit clubs opening in these hours).
This is the area Space & DC10 are based, so its only really them that are affected (the rest of clubs have been unable to open beyond 6am for a year or 2 now)
Hopefully the end result of this will be illegal venues/parties springing up around the remote areas of the island...places where you're not getting totally ripped off.

Either that or people will realise that other places in the world have clubs as well, with the same/similar line-ups, same sun and where you don't get ripped off

People will always want to go to Ibiza. Regardless of prices.
It's not something that someone who's never been would be expected to fully understand.
Just like, for instance, someone who's never been to a football match, they probably wouldn't regard paying £30 as good value/good use of time, to sit for a couple of hours in poor conditions, being served over-priced thai beer, amongst a load of angry lads swearing & the like, watching very average quality of football...unless you've been/experienced it/buzzed off it before you wouldn't be able to comprehend the attraction.

Having just got back two weeks ago, I can see both points of view with Ibiza..
Ibiza is and I still stand with my previous comments..overated to fook. Too many people get caught up in the 'Im off to Ibiza to have it large' philosophy and alot barely get to see the stunning beaches and little hideaways it has to offer. The overated-ness is the clubs and djs. As James said, we have a big world full of stunning sunsets and superstar dj's....
I found alot this summer's music uninspiring, dull, reduced techno/minimal schminimal..and the only music I really enjoyed was the authentic balearic beats at the sunset bars and BookaShade live..apaprt from that, no big tune for me!
So it was..my final trip to Ibiza, next year I want to go to Exit and then hopefully further afield to Brazil and beyond..
Dc10 was the most expensive gravel carpark to go dance in, cos quite frankly if we had gone in the main room, we would have been crushed to death it was extremely overly populated to the point of dangerous..
