I think it is apparent..Basics board suck at the mo, with more andmore d1ckheads just coming on to moan about the lineups and trying to dictate to whoever which dj MUST be booked instead.. Its all gone sour.. Everyone is leaving forums in droves..and using Facebook/MySpace as a text/email messaging service, a place to check whether you have been tagged in Aunite Hilda's 90th birthday party and to join the 'Jeremy Beadles Little Hand Appreciation Society'.. I hold my hand up(my normal one)..I am one of them..

I might just be getting old, but I much prefer a good old fashioned e-mail. Saying that I don't have regular work or home access to Myspace or Facebook, so perhaps it would be different if it did. I like the photo elements of Facebook and it is ideal if you don't live near your friends or have gone travelling. I was at a BBQ on Sunday and a girl there was explaining how much she loves Facebook and how she gets into a panic if she can't get access to the site for a couple of days... I mean, come on, pick up a phone or meet up with your mates! Oh and regarding the point of this thread then yes the Basics forum has gone gash. It's been like that for a while though, since we all sacked it off really.

I've never been on Facebook (although Rach is hooked at the moment) and I havent even updated my MySpace page in ages
I'm nice and busy during the day at work and I just can't be bothered at night
They do all eventually just become dominated by a small group of people, and so everyone else just loses interest
re: Basics - if the likes of Dave and Ralph actually posted regularly on there, that would help

I'm hooked on facebook since it was ace for putting up my travelling pictures. It's become a bit of a beast with all the applications that people are abusing but it's still useful for keeping people updated about anything going on.

Basics forum is less lighthearted than it used to be....the likes of Fazzy, Swampy, Easybone, Chant, Tinks, Pete1, Miguel etc all made it a decent laugh.....so many people have sacked it off and all that remains are the diehard there-every-week-ers who inevitably are going to have in-jokes.....
Most forums are like that tho....look at the reception CC001 got in the music/other clubs sections of this forum!!

As for MySpace/Facebook....who cares?!?!!?
If i want to read about clubbing i go on clubbing sites, if i want to read about football i go on footy sites, if i want to upload pictures/do some "social networking" i go on the aforementioned faddy sites...
Anyone remember Friends Reunited? the geezer that sold that for £££m's must be wiping his brow that he did it before Facebook superceeded it!!!!
Back to the forum thing: If a forum is busy enough and attracts interesting post-ers, it'll stay bhoyant, if not, it won't. Simple.

Basics got serious!!! All there seems to be are snooty comments and slagging off going on..I think Ralph posts(sometimes - but is pretty busy) and Dave - well god knows where he is! But what about Buckley, Tris etc it would be nice to hear from them on there now and then. Look at the Faith site (which I have read for ages but only just posted on, it is well funny with Faith dj's regulary posting/contributing to threads)
Basics board 2-3 years ago was a real laugh, cheeky comments, stupid threads, biggin up the weekend..shame really but thats the way it goes I guess..
Its a real strain to think of a subject to even get on the board..I may start stealing other thread subjects!

Most forums are like that tho....look at the reception CC001 got in the music/other clubs sections of this forum!! Given that CC001 is just spamming our site now and again, I think they got a decent enough reception
