This is boll*cks, it's already rigged by the fact that you wrote the word 'commercial' before the work funky! You know I can't press the funky button now or i'll get sent to creation or something
I just like House Music, every sort of house. Mix it up man why one or the other?

the point to this thread is to get peoples preferences, its no big deal about voting, just share your tastes...i realise that most people like a number of the options so maybe a poll wasn't a good idea....
apologies for trying to start a serious music-related thread for the good of the night ;D
so....anyone have any ket at the weekend?

Party house. Like what Jacob, Nic Fanculli, Mark Wilkinson, Phat Phil, Lewis Boardman (and a couple of others I can't remember) played.
Not too funky Not too prog Not too hard (not as in hard house, hard as in deep) Not trying to show off
Just the sort of music that makes you want to get up and start dancing (esp when you know the reason why you're up has nothing to do with the durgs) and the person behind the decs isn't trying to be cool/clever, just enjoying the party with everyone else.

i would have pressed the funky button but the commercial was there !!!
I honestly believe that 'funky' is the most popular house music at the minute, but i know that rudenot2 is not a funky house night and the people who go there do so for that fact. What about a funky house DJ down stairs from 1ish. Im sure Rourkey or Mark would do it for free !!!!

there's nothing wrong with liking funky/commerically orientated house, i like some of it myself to a certain degree, thats not to say i would want to hear it all night in a club....
if you like something you should have the balls to stand up and admit it!
i like soulful/disco house, plenty of my mates mock me for it, fcuk it who cares....i take the p1ss out of 'dull prog' in return....its good everyone has their own tastes and can have a laugh....

I honestly believe that 'funky' is the most popular house music at the minute agreed...commerical and popular gohand in hand Andie, this should illustrate that i wasn't dissing funky house, just trying to say that its basically house for the masses.

My personal favourite is tech-house eg. Justin Robertson, Anderson Noise, Phil Kieran. I love all sorts of house music, but generally like it to be kept on a tougher note. There is shedloads of this so-called commercial funky house now, who can blame the promoters though really it's pulling in the masses. I personally wouldn't ever go to KissdaFunk as it'd make my ears bleed........there's got to be something wrong with it, my mate who loves his hard house is a regular at KissdaFunk
