WOW! What a great Hallowe'en Party! The whole of the Uni was shaking to Skream and Benga last night! Now for a 'Chart Topping Live performance' not to be missed.......
A television star at the age of twelve with a record deal at sixteen and two singles in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 by nineteen. Few enjoy the stratospheric rise that Robyn experienced in the early nineties and few make the kind of comeback that’s propelled her back to the top as ANT is set to discover on 7th November, she’s one of a kind. As CEO of Konichiwa Records, she’s championed a new electro-pop direction and catapulted “With Every Heartbeat” to the top of the UK charts in August. Follow-up “Handle Me” is hot on its heels and Robyn is free once again to create the simple, sparse, hard-hitting pop she loves.
Her live show is complemented tonight by new wave electro-punk rebels The Filthy Dukes. Their monthly residency alongside Simian Mobile Disco at The Barfly have knocked Camden sideways and with the end of term in sight, Stylus is braced for impact. With PBR Streetgang (Asylum)
Doors 10pm - 3am. (Robyn on stage at midnight) £7 tickets from Jumbo, Crash and CATS (Leeds Uni) Info : josephine@clubasylum.net / 07776336710
