I really really want to go but obviously can't do anything about it until after thursday.
Will there be tickets left on the Friday? I suppose I could buy a ticket and then sell it if it all goes wrong.

They always keep about 100 tickets on door, but suppose you'll have to get there at about 20.00 and queue up to make sure you get one. They'll probably let you buy the ticket and then leave for a few bevvies with mates.
but I'd go with what scott's said to be safe. you'll get rid no probs, before hand or even on the day.
I know one of SAM's mates doesn't know if she can make it until the the actual day.
