Info update
This month Bionic Bump Band will be taking a rare trip down South to join us as our special guests and we also welcome on board new Gutterfunk resident Jamie Coughlan.
Metta and JT Love (collectively known as Bionic Bump Band) have been known to the house scene for some time now, recording as the Bionic Bump Band for 2020 Vision and as Metta and JT Love for HDS and Geek Records. After first meeting at a party in 1996 and discovering a shared love of the same kinds of music, it was not long before they started DJ’ing together and producing tracks.
They first came to the public's attention when their single '4 Day Shuffle' was signed by Craig Richards to his 'Tyrant 2' compilation and met with critical acclaim. Soon after, releases for Geek followed and consolidated their reputation in the tech house scene. As their sound developed they caught the ear of Ralph Lawson, Back to Basics' original resident and the man behind 2020 Vision. Metta gave him a CD of what was originally intended to be the first Flip-Flop release and he quickly got in touch wanting to sign the duo to his label. These tracks became their debut single for 2020 Vision as the Bionic Bump Band, the 'Box Bumps EP'. The lads still wanted their own imprint as well and so Flip-Flop was born; enabling them to release even more of their own music and to introduce productions by the new artists they are now discovering.
As well as heavy production commitments for Flip-Flop, 2020 Vision and Geek the boys maintain a DJ career causing serious dancefloor destruction at some of the worlds best clubs and parties.......they'll definitely rock the Gutterfunk floor with their own blend of jackin' digital grooves, chicago beats and funky tech treats.
We would also like to take the opportunity to welcome new Gutterfunk resident Jamie Coughlan to the fold. Jamie Coughlan impressed us immensely on his debut in April and he has been brought on board alongside existing residents Foot Therapy to ensure the exceptionally high standard music policy remains at the top of the pile.
As always your loveable rogues Foot Therapy will be handcrafting their exquisite house grooves ahead of Bionic Bump Band turning in a highly charged performance.
As always Free entry before 9pm & £6 after
We have a limited concession list
