We're all well excited to properly open up Casa @ Sankeys with one of the finest producer/DJ's the country has spawned in the last couple of years... we welcome Mr. Jesse Rose
Leading the pack along with the likes of Switch and Trevor Loveys, Jesse's sound is clicky, street, edgy, and a little bit mental. He will certainly be blowing up the Soap Bar in October with us Here's a little bit about the big man...
'At the age of twenty-six Jesse can be proud of his achievements. So far he has recorded an album and several EP’s for one of the worlds leading House labels: Classic, numerous twelve’s for labels such as Dubsided, Artform and his own Front Room Recordings. Jesse has also signed some of the freshest deep and jackin’ house talent around and there’s plenty more to come...
Jesse has been producing and playing records for over ten years, raised on an upbringing of Motown Soul, Jazz and Eighties Funk, in London’s Ladbroke Grove area, Jesse moved to Bristol at the age of fourteen and started working with old friend Jamie Anderson at the beginning of the nineties. The duo soon started DJing and began throwing club nights, homing in on their particular sound of Chicago House mixed with early Detroit Techno. By the mid nineties Jesse had already earned a reputation for solid sets across the 4/4 spectrum and it was around this time when those influences and ideas were finally cemented and Jesse began producing.
In 1997 Jesse moved back to his hometown London and soon started playing regularly around the capital and recorded his first mix CD entitled ‘Tec-House Living’ released on the Subversive label under his Deeper Sound Of Bristol moniker. The mix received critical acclaim from all sides of the dance music press, picking up on the unique way Jesse presented his sound.
In 2000 Jesse started working on his biggest project to date, alongside Chris Belsey the Front Room Recordings label was born. The label has received loyal support from throughout the house music community from the likes of Carter and Heather to Funk D’Void and Tiefshwarz, with an artist roster that boasts the likes of Solid Groove, Trevor Loveys, Jamie Anderson, Atlantic Fusion, Rob Mello, John Tejada, Stefan Goldmann and productions and remixes by Jesse himself. On the labels front Jesse also co-owns Loungin’ recordings, that has been receiving praise from the likes of Masters At Work, Gilles Peterson and Jazzanova.
As well as his own productions & remixes, Jesse can also be found producing alongside Dave Taylor AKA Solid Groove / Switch under the guises of Induceve on Derrick Carter’s Classic label and more recently on the Dubsided imprint. Induceve highlights include “Jazz Chops”, “Time To Begin” and ‘Monolevel’ on Classic and the “Pick It Up” EP on Dubsided.
DJing highlights throughout the last few years include regularly visits to Fabric, The End, Stealth and Back to Basic’s in the U.K and throughout Europe at WMF in Berlin, Panama in Amsterdam, Café D Anvers in Antwerp, WAF in Nantes and literally hundreds more. Residencies have included Front Room Sessions @ Kinzo in Berlin, Wagg in Paris and Back to Yours in London and a two-year stint on Kiss FM to name but a tiny few.
2005 is set to be Jesse’s best year yet, with the success of his latest EP’s on Dubsided and a solid release schedule on Front Room plus his partnerships as Induceve and Izit? with Trevor Loveys, three albums forthcoming; his Solo LP for Dubsided, the Induceve LP for Classic and his collaborations long player on Front Room plus a new label “Made to Play”
