Live @ The Underground w/c 07/11/05
First off, Big up Slam for last weeks minimal techno fest, spot on as always! Moving swiftly onto this week however, we bring you ELLEN ALLIEN + TIM SHERDIAN!
ELLEN ALLIEN
Berlin’s premier provider of the quirkiest electro and techno lines lines up for a special 1 hour guest appearance, showcasing another mix that we are buzzing to have on the show. Having ran the B Pitch stable now since 1997, it plays host to some of the biggest producers around at the moment, including Apparat, Sascha Funke, Kiki + Silversurfer, the excellent Modeselektor (check out the new Hello Mom Lp for dancefloor craziness!) and of course Tomas Anderson, who's 'washing up' tune has been the summer anthem for every club from the Mint to Mars (well...probably). Having seen her rock both Nitsa at the Kompkat/B-Pitch Party and the Sonar Festival Saturday night in Barcelona this summer, we know what to expect and you'd be a fool to miss out! Expect some forward thinking pure dancefloor mayhem!
As part of promotion for her latest THRILLS album available on Bpitch (in Tribe now!), check out www.bpitch.de and www.ellenallien.de for more info.
TIM SHERIDAN
Appearing in the studio tonight ahead of his gig at RudeNot2 @ Stinkys Peephouse this coming Friday, not only does he spend every Sunday during the summer rocking Space's Terrace @ 'We Love Sundays' but he also co-runs one of Ministry Of Sounds biggest and most popular monthly events 'Nastydirtysexmusic'.
Tim has been a dj and performer since 1985 working originally with the Utah Saints, who gave him his first break. He was the first dj to play officially at Glastonbury and then onto all other UK festivals and has done since at every one, every year.
His band the Dope Smugglaz have been number one in the UK dance charts and one of the few acts to cross the tightly policed commercial/underground boundaries. For the UK's one and only Love Parade (the largest outdoor event attendance in the UK) Tim played the first and last record and Dope Smugglaz were the only live act to perform, a day still held by Tim to be his best.
His essential mix for Radio One during his Dope Smugglaz period gained the most enquires ever to reach essential mix producers Wise Buddah at that time. If you like what you hear tonight on the show, get yourself down to RudeNot2 @ Stinkys this coming Friday to catch him play, £6 NUS and £8 others, support from T-Boy + Mozzi.
Adam Daniels + Ste Roberts will be manning the LSR decks before and after the guest mix, again providing 30 minutes each of only the finest in techno and electro.
As always, the show will feature a round up of the best nites in the north this weekend, and any news and info in the world of dance that's gone on this week. To get in touch with us 2 during the show you can do the following…….

NEXT WEEKS GUEST
BILLY NASTY
(TORTURED/ELECTRIX)
Next weeks special guest comes in the form of techno + electro legend Billy Nasty, making a welcome return to the show after his amazing guest mix in November of last year. Running his techno label Tortured Records (www.torturedrecords.com) and it's electro offshoot Electrix, the labels output is second to none with producers such as Sons Of Slough, Phil Kieran, Mr Velcro Fastener and the ADvent often releasing on the labels. Billy Nasty has been on the scene right since the beginning, championing Techno in the Uk from a very early age and releasing his seminal 'Journey By DJ's, and releasing many more since, most notably his Trust The DJ comp in 2002.
2003 saw Billy look to establish Tortured as more than just a label with parties held under the Tortured banner worldwide: the first took place at the Miami WMC, followed by a session at New York’s Arc. The label also hosted tents at the Impulse and Dance Valley festivals in Holland. Now in 2004, with Tortured and Electrix both well established, and after nearly fourteen years as a professional DJ, Billy can boast a diary busier than ever before. He continues to turn his back on the cash-lined path, preferring instead to play for appreciative, knowledgable crowds worldwide, as witnessed in Leeds in the last year with amazing sets at both Technique, and more recently, the Dirty Disco.
