And so STUDIO is with us!
It already feels like we’ve been doing this night for years!
Thanks to everyone who came down in June and helped to make this a good start and a great party!
There’s a quick review below along with links to some snaps of the night…
So on to the next one……………………..
Friday 7th July- BIONIC BUMP BAND + MAMA JOJO’S BIRTHDAY PARTY
Of course, STUDIOS own top residents will be in attendance
Phil Towers (brique rouge/ phono graffiti)
Jacob (mff / baker street)
Al Bradley (3am recordings)
Not only that – we support our local team for this one as
we welcome the Bionic Bump Band for our next soiree.
[2020 Vision // .DotBleep // Flip Flop]
These boys have been tearing it up of late with a series of releases on 2020, .dotbleep and US label Jamayka!
Expect to hear jacking electronic grooves alongside quirky cuts of digital disco, funk, soul and techno. Phew!
BBB have been described by DJ Magazine as:
‘One of the most adventurous acts on the house scene. Influenced by the bumpy, butt-shaking grooves of DJ Sneak and the Chicago house sound, they take the hypnotically funky dance floor style to new futuristic levels - but manage to keep it raw and primal.'
BBB also run their own label, Flip-Flop – www.flip-flop.org/
where you can download their latest mixes for a sneak preview
BBB’s DJ schedule has seen them play with some of the biggest names in house music today, including Mister C, Derrick Carter, Yousef, Jason Hodges, Inland Knights, Terry Francis, Josh Wink and Lottie to name a few!
We also have drinks promos on the night!!! Bonus!!!
What happened last month?
Early birds to the club were greeted by the Glamorous Mama Jojo and The Posh Man serving up champagne from a silver platter! Don’t say we don’t treat ya!
Al and Jacob set the vibe for our guest Justin Harris, with a lovely welcoming trax from the likes of lawnchair generals, Miles Maeda and Mr V.
Phil closed the party with a selection of tougher numbers- including a few new exclusives from the phono graffiti + cosmic groove transmission stables.
Our dance trio, the one and only S.U.B’s (Studios Urban Ballet) were a real highlight... It had to be seen to be believed!
Good job they weren’t camera shy as virtually everyone with a camera phone was snapping away at them.
It was so good to see people make the effort from Liverpool, York, Manchester, Chester, London and even Ireland! And by the end of the night they were all happy thanks to our guest Justin Harris, who played a set which effortlessly blended genres from bootleg boompt’ through to the latest Berlin noodlings!
Upstairs was host to some amazing artwork from our good friends Jonny and Lyn and a great backroom sound track from our residents. It had a great vibe from the start and people really enjoying dancing to some great music. Stevie Wonder anyone?
Holly must be the only girl with a set of balls that you would be interested in! Luckily there was a goal too…
Plenty of people got into the World Cup spirit and had a kick about with her, and a lot more looked like they wanted more than a kick about !!
Here's a few photos of the night taken by the one and only Gracie Rogers AKA Photopimp...
