Who was that nobhead on basics board, slating RN2, and who i justly accused of being a nobhead, which you saw fit (very reasonably) to over-rule??

I remember going to see someone at Northern Light (think we went with you T Boy and also Mitchell). It was poo ! i think that was a Defected night i am genuinely sorry that i seem to have upset someone who i consider a good friend i told him before the night he was braver than me for attempting to do a regular night at NL, and he already knew that i didn't like the venue - as i said in my comment, i just think it's simply too big a room to hold any atmosphere in there it was a great success in terms of people through the doors, and it may well have been the most astonishingly good night out in the history of music before 3am but all i can and did comment on was what it was like when i got there after 3am, and i walked into a room that was full of people just stood about drinking and talking it was full so the promoters did a fantastic job, there is no critisism there at all, and as i said it may have peaked earlier in the night and so i missed the fun but my reservations over NL as a viable venue for a regular club night are still there and that is all my comment was intended to show

To be fair the main room was really going off for most of the night, I think by 3am most people were just too much the worse for wear.
I was working behind the bar and have to say that the atmosphere was spot on for most of the night. I thought until about 4:30am really (when the booze stopped flowing), if we're talking about the same person you should know how touchy he can be and he put his heart and soul into the night and obviously is going to take any criticism quite hard. He was stressed for most of the night but it was a massive massive success and we even scrapped the afterparty in Velvet to keep people wanting more.
I know that people have an opinion about Northern as a venue and all I can say is that we're investing a small fortune in sorting out all the sound issues we've got one of the top engineers in Yorkshire working on it, have an all new staff from the top down and are really excited about the future of the venue.
If people are touchy about the subject it's because so much work has been put into the night and people do have a preconception that is proving difficult to shake off. Doubtless employing me there really hasn't helped!

Doubtless employing me there really hasn't helped! as i said, it may well have been fantastic before 3am, but when i got there it was very low-key (which explains the decision for no after-party) i know all about being stressed on the night and we get plenty of grief over the venue we use as well, but i don't take critisism of our venue personally and i am surprised and very sad and sorry that this guy has taken a very brief and almost throw-away comment so badly and of course, i don't definately know that this person is the same one who put the comments on that post on Basics, and i hope it isn't, but it's a big co-incidence if it's not
